Docker fundamentals

These articles are the class notes for a thematic unit of the Container Deployment and Administration module in the second year of the CFGS in Network and Computer Systems Administration at the CIFP Francesc de Borja Moll in Palma.

This series of articles introduces the fundamentals of containerisation with Docker. The content progresses from installation and the first steps with containers to more advanced concepts such as image management, the creation of custom images with a Dockerfile, data persistence using volumes, and network configuration.

Each topic combines theoretical explanations with practical examples and exercises to consolidate knowledge, establishing the necessary foundation for the subsequent series on Docker Compose and Docker Swarm.
