The Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP) is a network protocol that enables devices to automatically discover and advertise network services, particularly within a local network (LAN). It is a key component of Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and allows devices to announce their presence and available services without needing manual configuration.

SSDP uses multicast messages to broadcast this information, allowing other devices on the same network to easily identify and interact with them.
