Hard disk drives (HDD) and solid state drives (SSD) are data storage devices. HDDs store data in mechanically-moving, magnetic platters, while SSDs store data in flash memory (electronic circuits). SSDs offer more speed and efficiency. However, HDDs are a more cost-efficient option.
