GUID Partition Table (GPT) is a modern standard for the layout of partition tables on physical storage devices like hard drives and SSDs. It’s part of the UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) standard and is designed to overcome the limitations of the older MBR (Master Boot Record) scheme. GPT allows for larger disk capacities, more partitions, and enhanced data integrity features compared to MBR.
