Gbps, or gigabits per second, is the unit of measurement for data transfer speeds that is one thousand times faster than the Mbps, or megabits per second.
GBps (Gigabytes per second, or GB/s) and Gbps (Gigabits per second, or Gb/s) both measure data transfer rate, but the former refers to the transfer of 8-bit bytes, while the latter refers to the transfer of 1-bit units. One GB/s is equal to 8 Gb/s.
